develop stronger singing and acting skills.
Give them that extra push needed to present the best performance possible with materials that make stronger actors out of singers and stronger singers out of actors.
By re-envisioning Shakespeare’s sonnets students will see that his art translates across many artistic disciplines. Students Learn that Shakespeare:
- Doesn’t have to be intimidating
- Provides excellent source material with endless possibilities
- Is an excellent way to introduce the foundation of language and rhythm
- Can be used as a teaching tool for drama AND music students
- Is fun!

Half-Day Session
maximum 20 students
By the end of the session students will be able to use Shakespeare’s sonnets to create their own one act play or musical.
Session includes:
- 30-minute introduction to Shakespeare and sonnets
- 30-minute performance and music demonstration
- 60-minute student work session to develop scenes and one-acts from musical sonnets
- 30 minute student showcase
3 hrs / $500.00

Full-Day Session
A maximum 25 students
By brainstorming and participating in small group sessions students gain a deeper understanding of communicating lyrics and music through Shakespeare’s verse.
MORNING SESSION
- 30-minute introduction to Shakespeare and sonnets
- 30-minute performance and music demonstration
- 90-minute work session to learn musical settings of sonnets
AFTERNOON SESSION
- 30-minute work session to adapt Shakespeare’s verse to contemporary language
- 90-minute student work session to develop scenes and one acts from musical sonnets
- 45-minute student showcase
6 hrs / $950.00

Full-day Session B
maximum 25 students
By participating in small group sessions students gain a deeper understanding of communicating lyrics and music through Shakespeare’s verse and learn to apply these techniques to non- Shakespearean songs/scenes.
MORNING SESSION
- 30-minute introduction to Shakespeare and sonnets
- 30-minute performance and music demonstration
- 30-minutework session to adapt Shakespeare’s verse to contemporary language
- 90-minute work session to learn musical settings of sonnets
AFTERNOON SESSION
- 30-minute showcase of student work
- 45-minute work session to use similar techniques with students contemporary audition songs
- 45-minute student showcase
5 hrs / $850.00

Per-hour Sessions
up to 4 students per hour maximum 12 students in 3 hours
Students learn to utilize stronger phrasing and dramatic objectives that enhance lifelong performance skills. Sessions include one-on-one vocal and dramatic coaching on musical sonnets.
$200 /1hr $400/2 hrs or $500 / 3 hrs

All Sessions include curriculum overview, sheet music and master copy of student workbook.
