MUSICAL DIRECTOR
In my 36 years in theatre I have accumulated nearly 300 production credits in every type of theatre: plays, musicals and revues...adult, family and children's...national tours, black box, outdoor, arena/round and concert hall...flashy, serious or satirical... Equity, community and scholastic. It is my belief that all
theatre, musical or not, should be equally truthful and moving - which is more difficult in musical settings because the unrealistic must be presented in a
realistic fashion. I am not a fan of musical numbers for the sake of musical numbers, even in a revue or nightclub act. With me, each song is it's own
one-act play, whether it is part of a larger theatrical story or a single selection in a concert. My career has been spent developing the strongest
blends of actors and singers possible in an attempt to give the richest performances to audiences. I am as comfortable working with a big cast/full pit show like SOUTH PACIFIC as I am with an individual artist or performance group accompanied by a 3-piece combo -- and feel just as home with an Equity company as with a high school drama program. If there's a musical story to share and people who want to share it, I am delighted to be part of the process.

ENDORSEMENTS
Fellow performers will understand what I mean with I say this: Performing with David is one of the safest times you will experience on stage -- he is so giving and supportive, it's like working with a safety net. He will always catch you if you need it, guide you if you lose your way and share the joy of music with you every time. I'm a bit biased when it comes to David, because I've had the privilege of working with him for over 30 years on more than 30 scripted shows, new works, revues, concerts and cabaret acts. As a musical director, David has the remarkable ability to bring out the very best a performer has to offer; to expand their skills by sharing his encouraging vision, imagination and enthusiasm. ![]()
